Paul René Tremblay

At the Deep River and District Hospital on Thursday, January 24, 2019. Paul Tremblay at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Marina Tremblay (nee: Dumouchel). Loving father of Suzanne Roche and her husband Gerry of Bancroft, Lise Kean and her husband Sheldon of Oshawa and Todd Tremblay and his wife Pam of Chalk River. Cherished grandfather of Cailean, Matthew, Kaitlyn and Sage. Dear brother of Thérèse (the late Jean-Marie) and sister Jeanette (Jeannot) both of Jonquière Quebec, Jacqueline (the late Yvan) and Jean (Lucie) both of Quebec City. Respecting Paul’s request cremation has taken place. Friends may share memories of Paul when visiting at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Chalk River on Monday, February 4 from 9:30 to 10:50 am. A Memorial Mass will then be celebrated at 11:00 am in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Chalk River. Reception to follow. Interment of cremated remains will be in St. Anthony Parish Cemetery (in the spring). In memoriam donations to the Yamasa Mission (cheques payable to: Our Lady Of Good Counsel Catholic Church, c/o Yamasa Mission) would be gratefully appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Valley Funeral Home, Deep River. Paul lived his faith through action; a deeply spiritual, generous and loving man with a kind heart who gave so much of himself to help others, modelling love, forgiveness and compassion. He was well known for his mission work in Africa, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and at home. He had a work ethic beyond words and has made his mark all around the world. Paul truly was "one of a kind".

I have known Paul for 68 years and have been a witness to his long life of giving. His goodness/kindness was what characterized him.

Paul has given his whole life in helping others, the world would a much better place if we had more Paul’s.

To the people who knew him well, all can vouch to the big impact for the better he had on so many people.

RIP. Adieu! Mon ami.

Paul became part of our life in 2001 when he joined us for a mission in Yamasa. We continued over the years to witness his many talents and his generosity. Cement floors, pig roasts, splendid meals at his house, pot lucks and so many laughs. May the Lord reward you Paul for all you did to help the poor. The rest of us will long remember your many skills.
