With great sadness, we have learned of Don's passing.
What a joyful, boisterous life he lived - full of kindness, a constant sense of adventure, and a servant heart.
I echo the tributes of Don's children and family - a great father & role model. The dream home Don built here, will be cherished and serve many others in the decades ahead,
and so we embrace our faith that Don's eternal home in heaven is even more magnificent.
The Lord bless you & keep you...

I'm so sorry to hear this news. I remember connecting again with Don last year- what a great story teller! I heard all about his amazing house and his dreams coming true- being back in Deep River area, closer to family and old friends.
I have great memories of him visiting on the drive home from a hunting trip- deer folded up, gutted, on the back of his truck and hearing the stories of how he got the big buck. His stories were always loaded with enthusiasm, passion and laughter.
What a loss though for friends and family. My thoughts and prayers to the grieving Sutton family.

Hey Graeme and Rachel and Kids

Sorry to hear about your Dad, Father in Law and Granddad. My condolences to you and all the the family. Never met your Dad but always remember the picture of you on top of your Dads shoulders both in in plaid shirts after some hunt and then you and Jake doing the same thing to duplicate the picture only the next generation. A way to remember a loving father. I think you're the same, you only have to look at the picture.

We were so very sorry to hear about Don. He was a larger than life character, it is really hard to imagine that he is no longer there with you Sue, and with the rest of your family, I know you were all very close.
We really enjoyed our kayaking adventures with you and Don, and got out on some rivers we would not have tackled without Don’s advice and guidance.
On projects at work, as well as on the river, you felt an added sense of confidence and peace of mind, that things would work out well, the more so because Don was there. He will be very much missed, and fondly remembered, by an awful lot of people, because he seemed to know everyone.
Don was generous and kind, and he always had a good story to tell about anything and everything.
Much Love to all of you, Margot & Bruce

Dear Sue, Graeme, Geoffrey, and Martha and Your loved ones:

We just heard of Don's passing and an absolute shock. He was such a loyal husband and father. At work, we all depended, so much, on Don. He was always there, without question, to lead, help and pass his knowledge on to his team and peers and, of course, we looked forward to his many stories (work and non-work related). Beth and Elaina were beneficiaries to his and your dedication to the community at Kap Nordic Ski. I, particularly loved Don's tales of his hunting exploits in the Ottawa Valley. We were all better having known Don and he leaves a huge void with all who knew him. We feel for you guys and please know that you guys are in our thoughts and prayers and share in your sorrow at this difficult time. Rest in Peace Don.

Will and I offer our condolences. We have such good memories of our time together, and will always remember the way Don's face lit up when he talked about his family that he loved so much.

You always talked about your Dad so I know you were very close to him so this must be weighing very heavy on you. I am very sorry for your family’s loss. All of us here at CNL Engineering are saddened and hopeful that we can help you through this difficult time.

Dear Sue and family,

This seaminly early passing of Don has came as a bit of a shock to me. I had the oportunity and pleasure to work with him for relatively a short period of two years during the OPG projects in Timmins. I admired his sincerity, caring and light heartiness he projected to all situations along with his many, many stories. He loved his family and they became part of most conversations. Even though I personally did not know his family, I am sure much of his character has been passed down. I guess the angels were in need of another one.
My sincere condolences to all of you and may God's ever caring love give you strength and courage.

Dear Susan, Martha and boys, We are so saddened to learn of Don's passing. I enjoyed getting to hear about your family adventures when we worked together Susan and then to occasionally chat as neighbours living a few doors away. Don seemed to be always doing something outside and we had both commented after you moved how we missed his friendly smile and wave when driving by. We know how your family must be feeling right now without the physical presence of this strong limb of your family tree. In time, memories will give you comfort and support to keep that family strong. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Don. All the wonderful remarks above are not only kind, but absolutely true. He was all that! He will be missed by all who knew him, but especially his family, of whom he was so proud and loving. Earth's loss is heaven's gain. Rest in peace, Don.

To Geoff and his family, my deepest condolences. As a coworker and friend of Geoff, I had to opportunity to meet Geoff's dad at a few hockey tournaments when Geoff was helping to coach a local team. My heart breaks for your loss.

I was late in getting Marcel Plourde's email message regarding Don's passing. Gee whiz I never seen that one commin.
I dare say though, knowing what I know about Don, that at this very moment he is bargaining with God the Father that the new Jerusalem which commeth down from heaven have some full size hockey rinks, baseball stadiums and plenty mountains with rivers/rapids a flowing.
