What a man, husband, father, and for me uncle. So many beautiful thoughts go through my head as I remember as a child and as an adult the fun times with uncle Jim. Sailing, golfing, canoeing, child hood games that made me laugh. He is such a big part of my memories from then until now and always. He always had time for us and ensured we knew we were loved in the good times and when we were in trouble.....which was more than.i would like to admit. Will forever think.of you daily uncle Jim.....LOVE YOU!!!!!

Farewell to a dear and wonderful friend and mentor. We have so many special memories of family times together. Thank you Jim for always being there for us, for being our Canadian grandfather when our kids were growing up, for showing them how to draw trees, solve puzzles, and enjoy the outdoors and sailing. Our thoughts are with Janice, David, Jamie and all your families and most especially with dear Marie.
Love and deepest condolences,

Jim was good to me. He always greeted me with genuine happiness. He was sort of a mentor (we wear the same ring). And he didn’t even get angry when, as a boy, I got his car stuck in the sand.

My Condolences to the Tanner family. Jim was a very kind, thoughtful and extremely competitive man and great father. I have very fond memories of times spent visiting the family on many occasions especially at Christmas when Jim would bring out his “Trevett” board game, never sure of where that name came from but later found out that it is Crokinole played using short (pool) cues instead of flicking with your fingers. Many controversies over who was the “Trevett” King but we graciously awarded the Title to Jim, after all it was his home and his game. I also played Bartender with David at many of Jim and Marie’s Parties. In those years there was No Smart Serve training required but probably should have been. David and I did not fully understand what 3 to 1 meant when mixing drinks. After a few minor incidents with their guests, who seemed to be really having a good time we quickly realized 3 Parts Mix Not 3 Parts Liquor could have contributed to the situation. I will cherish the wonderful memories of times we shared Jim. R.I.P my friend. Mark Butch Jarbo
