My condolences to Gerald`s many friends and family. It was a pleasure to have known him and converse with him about our little corner of the valley. In doing so he enriched our lives with stories about our families that otherwise would have vanished. It is an honour to call him my cousin and I will miss him.

Please accept my condolences. I was friends with Gerald I think from 1972-79, and rented from him for part of that time. A very hospitable, courtly man, and one of the most interesting human beings I have ever known. I was pleased to read how many people valued his friendship.
