Alice was born on March 20, 1933, in Regina, Saskatchewan. She is survived by her eleven children – Sharon (Francois) Desfosses, Marian (Kerry) O’Connor, Austin (Bernice) Kinsella, Thomas (Judy) Kinsella, Genevieve (Ross) Kreye, Janet (Frank Panych) Kinsella, Mary (Kelly) Philip, Ann (Gordon Brandle) Kinsella, Patrick (Kerry Docherty) Kinsella, Eileen (Chris) Byrne, Betty (Brian) Timmerman; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; brother Earl Roblin, sisters-in-law Rita and Eve, brother-in-law Lee Jerome, many loving nieces, nephews, special friends John and Kathleen Molloy, Sheila Maher, Terry and Brian Corbett, Marilyn Kuisma, and Barbara Hudson. Alice was a loving mother, and a friend to many.
Alice grew up on the family farm in Saskatchewan. When she was 13, she moved with her family to Hamilton, Ontario. It was there that she met the love of her life, Austin.
They soon moved to Torbay, Newfoundland and Labrador, where they married in 1952 and raised eleven children. In 1992, Alice and Austin relocated to Deep River, Ontario, to be closer to family. They enjoyed their retirement years there, making new friends, fishing, and traveling. In 2022, they moved to a retirement residence in Pembroke, Ontario.
Alice was an accomplished seamstress, knitter, and crocheter. She loved music, cherished the time spent with family, and enjoyed camping and fishing with close friends. She spoke lovingly and proudly of her children and grandchildren. She was thoughtful and considerate; her home was always open and welcoming. A proud and hard-working woman, she was feisty, brave, and respected by all who knew her. Alice will be missed dearly by her family and friends, whose lives she enriched with warmth, laughter, and love.
A special thank you to the staff at Pembroke Hospital for their compassionate care and support during Alice’s final days.
