Catherine "Cathy" Mary Valliquette Godsmark

Cathy Valliquette Godsmark, 61, passed away suddenly at her home in Haw River on Monday, June 27, 2022. Loving wife of Fredrick George Godsmark and mother of George Fredrick Godsmark and Rachel Catherine Godsmark (deceased 2019).

Cathy was born in Pembroke Ontario, Canada and grew up in Deep River, Ontario, Canada. She and her family relocated to North Carolina where she worked at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill as a nursing supervisor in the Operating Room, and recently retired after 25 years of outstanding service. Cathy was vibrant and full of life, enjoying each moment to the fullest and enriching the lives of those around her. She held her family as the most precious treasure in the world as they also held her. She loved her friends and respected her co-workers as if they were family.

Cathy is survived by her husband; Fred, and son; George, mother; ZitaValliquette, sisters; Patricia Valliquette and Diane Cartier, brothers; Brian Valliquette and Michael Valliquette. She was preceded in death by her father; Wayne Valliquette, and brother; Robert Valliquette.

A Mass in the presence of ashes will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Friday, July 29 at 11:00 a.m., followed by Interment at the Deep River Community Cemetery. In memoriam donations to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.
