Suddenly, on Sunday December 29, 2024. Anne Wills of Deep River at the age of 72 years. Daughter of the late Roger Yorke and Joan Claudia Edwards. Beloved wife of John Wills. Loving mother of Andrea Wills (Richard Lanouette) of Ottawa and Lynne Wills (Andrew Sernoskie) of Deep River. Cherished Nannie of Anna, Jack and Drew Lanouette and Millie and Max Blimkie. Dear sister of Jane Edwards (James Koropatnick) of Denman Island, BC and cherished aunt of Reta Koropatnick and Ian Koropatnick (Nicole Slocum).
Anne was born and spent her early years in Victoria, B.C., attending Monterey Public School, Norfolk House School (now Norfolk Glenlyon School) and Oak Bay Jr. High. In 1967 she moved with her family to Ottawa and completed high school at Sir John A. MacDonald H.S. Following graduation she attended the University of Waterloo attaining an MSc in Computer Science and Numerical Analysis. Anne spent 6 work terms at CNL where she met and married John in 1978. They settled in Deep River raising their 2 children.
Anne pursued a career as a statistician in the Environmental Research Branch at Chalk River. Outside of work Anne enjoyed many of the recreational activities available in Deep River, including: synchronized swimming, Scottish country dancing, rowing and bridge. Anne was passionate about Guiding and contributed over 30 years as a Guide leader and District Commissioner. Anne and John enjoyed travel in their retirement years, visiting many countries around the world.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Deep River Public Library program room from 2-4 pm. In memory of Anne, donations to the Deep River and District Health - Closer to Home Campaign would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.
