A life well lived by Delores Ada (Alessio) Cox passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in the town she lived for more than 60 years. Born in Port Arthur now Thunder Bay in 1932 and raised in Windsor Ontario. Predeceased by her first husband Orio Alessio and by her second husband Victor Cox and a son Orio Alessio Jr. Delores is survived by her children Kathryn, James, Veronica and John, and in-laws Donna Walker, William Brown, Rebecca Johnson and James Stewart and 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and a few lifelong friends.
Delores was known for her fun-loving spirit, entertaining family and friends and her knack for bringing smiles to those around her. Delores was a true jokester who found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Her fierce determination, unwavering resilience and passion will be greatly missed.
Through her many careers and volunteer projects Delores touched the young and seniors alike.
To the Whistle Stop friends who showed her much respect and friendship, your kindness was always loved. To her long time health care team. Thank you for the special care each and every time you were called upon.
May Delores carry on her love with those who have gone before her and bring smiles to those who will remember her incredible spirit.
Respecting Delores’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Friday, April 11 at 11:00 am. In memory of Delores, donations to the Deep River Food Bank would be gratefully appreciated.
