It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Raymond Anderson, a man whose larger-than-life personality, endless energy, and unwavering love for his family touched everyone who knew him.
Born in Golden, BC, Donald carried a strong spirit and hardworking nature throughout his life. He was the kind of person who could never sit still for long. He worked hard, gave his all in everything he did, and carried a determination that inspired those around him. Whether he was helping someone in need, tackling a project, or simply making sure his family was taken care of, Donald always put his heart into it. His family was his greatest pride and greatest purpose in life.
Above all else, Donald loved his spouse, Niki Lynn nee Lachance, and his children fiercely. They always came first. He leaves behind his loving children, Bianca Anderson, Caetlin Anderson, and Dana Anderson, and was predeceased by his beloved son, Gordon Anderson. No matter how busy life became, his family remained at the center of his world. He was protective, devoted, and deeply proud of the people he loved most.
Donald worked as a welder for Eastway Collision and took great pride in his work. He was especially fond of the Ottawa site and the people he worked alongside throughout the years. His dedication, strong work ethic, and willingness to lend a hand never went unnoticed.
Donald was predeceased by his father, Raymond Anderson, and leaves behind his mother, Linda Banning, and stepmother, Gloria Downer. He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law, Cindy Lachance, and father-in-law, Lawrence Lachance.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Anderson, and nieces Julia and Vanessa; his sister, Ramona Anderson, Nathaly Boisvert, nephew Tristan, and niece Octavia; brother Blake Boisvert, niece Sarah, and nephew Maverick; and sister-in-law Lindsay Lachance (Travis), nephew Carson, nieces Mia & River. He also leaves behind his dear friend, Steph, along with many other extended family members, coworkers, and friends who will miss him deeply.
Donald also had a special talent for driving everyone a little crazy — usually with his teasing, stubbornness, or mischievous sense of humor — but somehow, he could always make people laugh at the exact same time. His quick wit, playful personality, and ability to find humor in everyday moments created countless memories that his family and friends will treasure forever.
He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his strong spirit, his unforgettable sense of humor, and the love he gave so freely to those closest to him. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Donald Raymond Anderson will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
