At Deep River with his family on Saturday, January 29, 2022.  Edgar Coote at the age of 93 years. Beloved husband of the late Helen Coote (nee Ladouceur) by first marriage, and the late Rita Coote (nee Meilleur). Loving father of Brian (Tina Dumoulin), Phyllis Gutzman (Steve), Brent (deceased 1989) (Laura of Kingston), Sandra Hutchinson (George Tellier) of Utopia, Shane (deceased 2008), and Lorie of Toronto. He will be greatly missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild, and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, as well as neighbours, friends, and former co-workers. Predeceased by parents Herbert and Mary Eva Coote (Fenton), as well as 4 sisters (Myrtle, Laura, Jessie, Vera) and 1 brother (Bob). He is survived by his brother Basil of Huntsville, and sister Marilee Kosik (Walter) of Wabamun, Alberta. He was very proud of having worked as a full-time meat cutter for A&P in Deep River from 1949 until his retirement in 1993.  He enjoyed bingo, bowling, cards, and cutting meat for local hunters and farmers. Respecting Edgar’s request, cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Saturday, May 14 from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment of cremated remains will be in the Deep River Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home (Deep River).
