Garry Laderoute Obituary

Garry Joseph Alexander Laderoute

Garry Joseph Alexander Laderoute, age 73, was called home to be with the Lord suddenly on Monday April 24,2023 at the Deep River and District Hospital.

Son of the late Emmett and Irene Laderoute (nee Goyette) of Westmeath, ON. Loving husband of the late Judith Thompson. Beloved father of Julie Laderoute, her husband Kourosh Khosravi and cherished grandpa of Nahum Khosravi, all of Deep River, ON.  Treasured brother of Sharon Chaput (Westmeath) and Janis Frank (Kirkland Lake, ON).

Garry will be missed by his brother-in-law Durrell Chaput of Westmeath, ON and brother-in-law Patrick Thompson and his wife Darlene of Whitehorse, Yukon. Cherished and much-loved uncle of Terran and Devin Chaput, Sean Thomas, Tracey Bergermann and Christie Thompson, and and their respective families. Predeceased by niece Jennifer Everly and nephew Chad Thompson. Garry leaves behind many family members and friends who shared fond memories with him.

Garry was a kind and gentle man with a wicked sense of humour.  His love and relationship with the Lord was of utmost importance to him. Garry had a deep appreciation for Biblical teachings. He was well-versed in scripture and could quote passages with ease, often using them to make a point or add depth and insight to conversations and studies.

Despite the challenging circumstances, Garry was known for his sharp intellect and knowledge of various subjects and incredible sense of humor that persisted throughout his battle with dementia. He would often make jokes and quips that would leave everyone in stitches, even during the toughest of times.

Garry grew up on the farm in Westmeath, ON and only left to follow his true love, Judy. He and Judy settled in Kirkland Lake where they went on to spend the rest of their married years together. He spent a great deal of his adult life raising, and caring for his daughter who considered him not only a father but her best friend. Thank you for the laughter and memories.

Garry is leaving behind a legacy of laughter, intelligence, and wisdom. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him and were lucky enough to experience his love and care.

A small memorial will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 1:00 pm at Pine Ridge Family Church, Petawawa, Ontario. A Celebration of Life will take place in Kirkland Lake at a later date.  In memoriam donations may be given to Teen Challenge North
