George Albert Leakey
George Leakey, beloved husband in his 60th year of marriage to Shirley (née Pugsley) passed away at Deep River, March 30, 2023, at the age of 83. Loving father of Carolyn Leakey (Phyl Durdey) of Caledon East, and the late Brian Leakey. Cherished grandfather of Brian and Tyler. Dear brother of Nancy Myers (James) of Bath and Marie Day (David) of Kingston. Dear brother-in-law of William Pugsley (Emmaline Madigan) of Pointe au Baril, Dorothy Ferris (the late Keith) of Lively. Remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. George was predeceased by his parents Wilford and Edna Leakey and his nephew Mark Day.
Friends may call at the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Tuesday April 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the Deep River Community Church on Wednesday at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in the Deep River Community Cemetery. In memory of George, donations to the Deep River and District Hospital Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
