Helvi Sylvia Madore

It is with deep sadness that the family of Helvi Sylvia Madore (nee Niemi) announce her passing on March 31, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at the Four Seasons Lodge Deep River, Ontario. 

She will be sadly missed by her daughter Salli Madore of Jasper AB, daughter in-law Janet Madore (the late Shawn) of Deep River. She was the loving Granny to Travis Madore (Kelsea) of Chalk River, Katie Madore (Grant) of Deep River.  Loving great Granny to Ryan and Wylie Madore.
Helvi will be greatly missed by her special sister in-law Gail Ansley of Peterborough, Ontario as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and by all her friends.

Predeceased by her husband Frank (2011) , son Shawn (2022) and special sister in-law Barb Madore (2024)

At this time, we would like to extend our profound gratitude to the entire staff at the Four Seasons Lodge, and to all others that took such great care of mom and us through this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. McVey and Dr. Noulty for your kind and compassionate care of our mother. 

Helvi is best described by the Finnish word “Sisu” which reflects her heritage and resolve: Sisu signifies a unique blend of determination, resilience and courage in the face of adversity, going beyond mere perseverance to represent an extraordinary inner strength

Interment at the Deep River Community Cemetery at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.
