Jacob "Jack" Schankula

At the Deep River and District Hospital, on the 29th of July 2026, at the age of 80 years.  Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marie Schankula in 2023.

Loving father of Darren and his wife Shelly of Callander, On, and Jacob and his wife Tina of Osgoode, On.  Cherished grandfather of Katie (Nick), Tim, Sarah and Samantha. 

Predeceased by both of his parents, Henry and Katharina of Niagara Falls.  Loving brother of Don and his wife Peggy of Oakville, On, and predeceased by his sister Anna Scobie of Niagara Falls and brother Henrich, also of Niagara Falls. 

While his 2 1/2-year fight with cancer wasn’t easy, it was his love for family and friends that gave him purpose and determination to live life to the best of his ability right up until his recent 80th birthday party in early July.

Remembrance gathering and Interment will be held at a later date.   In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Deep River and District Health Foundation. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.
