On Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the Deep River & District Hospital, Jim O’Brien of Deep River, died peacefully with family by his side in his 84th year. Son of the late Vincent and Mary O'Brien (nee Peters) of Smiths Falls. Beloved husband of Carol Ann O’Brien (nee Zadow). Loving father of Curt O’Brien and his wife Leanne of Bright's Grove and Troy O’Brien (Jodi) of Manotick and Kemptville. Proud grandfather of Luke, Aidan, Marlea and Blake O’Brien. Dear brother of Gerry O’Brien and his wife Monique of Picton and predeceased by brother Ron O’Brien of Windsor. Jim will be deeply missed by brother-in-law Ralph Zadow (Diane) of Port Elgin, along with many nieces, nephews , cousins, Godchildren and cherished friends. He will also inevitably be remembered by countless colleagues and students from his 30+ year teaching career that began in Ottawa and continued in Deep River at Keys Public School and T.W. Morison Public School until his retirement in 1995. Respecting Jim’s wishes, cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at a later date yet to be confirmed for the spring of 2022. In memoriam donations to The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute - Brain Cancer, CNIB or Deep River & District Hospital would be gratefully appreciated.
