Jashoda Shah

Jashoda "Jackie" Shah (nee Haria), passed away peacefully at the age of 84 in Deep River, Ontario, on Tuesday September 24, 2024.

Beloved wife of Pravinchandra Shah for 57 years, Jashoda will be deeply missed by her daughter, Nina (Sunjay Mistry) of Mackey, and son, Sunir (Shannon Knights) of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Sitara, Sachin, Maya, Kieran, and Priya.

Born on November 15, 1939, in Nairobi, Kenya, Jashoda moved with her husband to Canada in 1974 and Deep River, Ontario in 1986 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a devoted teacher, businesswoman, community leader, known for her love of family, and volunteer involvement with the local East Indian community.

A private cremation service will be held on Thursday, September 26.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 16 from 7-10 pm in the Deep River Public Library.

Prayer Service to start at 7:30pm

Light refreshments will be served

 In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Deep River and Area Food Bank.
