At the Deep River and District Hospital on Friday, September 1, 2023. Barrie Hallett, age 83 years. Beloved husband of Joan Hallett (nee Copeland). Loving father of Christina Hepburn and her husband Ken of Newcastle, Ontario, Nicholas “Nick” Hallett and his wife Lisa of Deep River and Elizabeth “Liz” Hallett and her partner Keith Beagley of Kirdford, England. Cherished grandfather of Siobhan, Alexandra, Stephen and Catherine Carriere, Nick and Paeden Hepburn, Devon, Finley, Logan and London Hallett. Dear brother of Karen Stephenson of Beverley, England and Rodger Hallett and his wife Jane of Scotland. Predeceased by a sister Jane Marling and a brother Robert Hallett. Born in Hull, England, Barrie arrived in Canada in 1967 with his wife Joan. Barrie worked at AECL from his arrival in Canada to his retirement at age 58.  He was an active member of FSNA, the Deep River Golf Club, the Deep River Yacht and Tennis Club, the Deep River Squash Club, The Deep River Blues Rugby Club and also an avid cross country skier.  Barrie enjoyed all that Deep River has to offer and encouraged his children to do the same.  Respecting Barrie’s wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday September 9, 2-4 pm at the Deep River Yacht and Tennis Club Hexagon. In memory of Barrie, donations to the Deep River and District Hospital’s Palliative Care Suite and Team would be much appreciated . The family would like to acknowledge the team’s kind and excellent care during Barrie’s final days there.
