The family regrets to announce that John (Jack) Leonard Nicks, 93 years of age, died on April 12, 2021 at the Deep River and District Hospital, Deep River, Ontario. Born in 1927 in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Jack was a professional electrical engineer with a long career in hydraulic and nuclear power generation with Ontario Hydro, followed by consulting work overseas and with Chalk River Nuclear Laboratories. Off work, his passions were family, friends and the great Ontario outdoors. Jack was a humble, caring and creative gentleman who never forgot where he came from.

Jack was predeceased by his brothers Bob and Tom Nicks. He was the devoted husband of Maud Nicks and the loving father of Craig Nicks (Linda) and Brian Nicks (Janet), a loving grandfather of Lynsey (Cameron), David, Charlie, Aidan and Peter (Anne) and a great-grandfather of Meredith and Ila.

There will be no visitation due to COVID restrictions. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In memoriam, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
