It is with great sadness and broken hearts the family of Karen Joan Spencer (nee McCarthy) announce her passing on October 28, 2021 at the age of 59. Karen fought a courageous battle and never gave up hope or prayer, but unfortunately on October 28 this beautiful kind and caring angel passed away peacefully at her home in Ajax surrounded by love. Daughter of the late Wilton and Fay McCarthy. Wife and best friend to Jamie Spencer. Loving daughters Jamie Lynn Spencer of Bowmanville, Kendra Spencer (Denning Wells) of Ajax, Jenny Donaldson (Dave) of Westminster, California. Cherished grandmother of Liam, Madison O’keef-Bradley of Bowmanville, and Brody and Dublin Donaldson of Westminster, as well many nieces and nephews. Dear sister to Danny McCarthy and his wife Brenda of Petawawa, Michael McCarthy and his wife Debbie of Bowmanville, Howard McCarthy of Oshawa and Patrick McCarthy of Oshawa. Predeceased by Thomas McCarthy. Also sadly missed by brother in-laws Shaun Spencer of Deep River and Blaine Spencer of Chalk River. Respecting Karen’s wish’s cremation has taking place. An interment service and committal prayers will take place at St Anthony Parish Cemetery, Chalk River on November 13th at 11:00 am where her ashes will be laid to rest, then followed by a Celebration of Life at the Lions Hall. In memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
