Peacefully on March 2, 2026 at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus with family at his side. Dear son of the late Tom and Molly Mckee. Predeceased by his cherished wife Irene Mckee (Cotie). Loving stepdad to Doug Rousselle RIP(Joanne), Dave Rousselle (Sandy), and Rick Rousselle (Debi).
Dear brother to Rita Begley (late Ken), Dale Valiquette (Mickey), Jimmy McKee RIP (Beryl), Ernie Mckee RIP (Beth), Eric Mckee RIP.
Ken is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, far to extensive to try and include here.
Ken was born in Chalk River and grew up and stayed in the area. Worked his entire career at A.E.C.L. and was an avid golfer and enjoyed to curl. Of course, he was always our family carpenter, and helped build and maintain most of our many homes over the years. Retired over 25 years now and spent them well. Many trips to the sun in winter, and summers at their beloved cottage. In recent years he found much joy playing euchre whenever he could and cherishing our family gatherings. He never missed a pickerel dinner.
As per Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place. Mass in the presence of ashes will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Saturday, May 23 at 11:00 am., followed by interment in the Deep River Community Cemetery next to his precious Irene (Nannie), and his mom, dad and family.
Special thanks from all of us to the staff at North Renfrew Long Term Care who Ken considered family, as well as all the paramedics he met, nurses and doctors, at the Deep River, Pembroke and Ottawa Hospitals. Kens recent years were spent in and around all of these amazing facilities and he loved each and every one of the medical staff who attended to him over the years.
Memorial donations can be made to the North Renfrew Long Term Care as well as the Deep River and District Hospital Foundation.
