It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Logan Anthony Stevens, a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, and grandson. From the moment Logan was born, his big, bright brown eyes lit up every room he entered. He grew up with a deep love for baseball, reptiles, hunting, fishing, and drawing — passions that brought him joy and shaped the person we all knew and loved.
Though he spent most of his life in Ontario, Logan was born in Nova Scotia, a place that always held his heart. His early years spent with the special Stevens family (Derrick) remained among his most treasured memories.
Logan is survived by his loving mother Jennifer Bayers (Greg) and father PJ Chartrand, his sisters Brooke and Serenity, grandparents Keith Bayers (Brenda) and Donna Mills (Max), his great grandma, and his favourite aunties, along with many other family members who loved him deeply.
Over the past ten years, Logan faced a courageous battle with addiction. Despite his struggles, he never lost his light, his sensitivity, or the deep love he had for his family. Addiction is a heartbreaking disease that takes too many far too soon.
“Addiction is a monster. It lives inside you, and sometimes, no matter how hard you fight, it wins. But it doesn’t define your soul.”
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the ICU health care team at the Ottawa Civic Hospital for the kind and compassionate care provided to Logan in his final hours.
A celebration of Logan’s life will be held on Saturday, August 16th from 4pm to 6pm at Chalk River Legion Branch 562.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Logan’s memory can be made to the Messa Team in Pembroke, Ontario — a community program dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by addiction.
