Margaret (Peggy) Ormrod
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Peggy at home surrounded by her children. Wife of the late Dr. John Ormrod and survived by her children Charles (Lore), Michael (Melodie), Liz Fox, Katharine Myers (Bruce), Heather Chick (Bill). Cherished grandmother of 17 “lullies” and great grandmother of 16. Peggy has been a member of the Deep River community since 1963. Throughout the years she was actively involved with St. Barnabas Church and many fundraising campaigns to support her charitable interests. She was an avid reader and knitter. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, playing games with her family and giving motherly advice. After numerous years of correspondence courses, she graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Arts degree at the age of 65. Her family will fondly remember her strength of character, her compassion and her generosity.
Happy Landing Mom.
Special thanks to Terry Myers for the weekly Scrabble game, and to Dr. Sage, Dr. Ceponis, Glenn Lyons, Dale Lade, Laurie Baldwin and all the other caregivers whose efforts allowed her to stay in her own home.
Funeral will be held at St. Barnabas Church June 22, 2024 at 11 am.
“In lieu of flowers, donations to Deep River & District Health for the Closer to Home project would be appreciated.”
