In her hundredth year, Mary Dorothy Francis Gonneau (nee Brouse) born August 15, 1922 passed away peacefully on September 1, 2021 at Miramichi Lodge, Pembroke. Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Gonneau and dear sister to Catherine Richards (late husband Art) and Carmelita Tait (late husband Paul). Pre-deceased by her sisters Margaret Stewart (Bud); Joan Meilleur (Sonny); and brothers Billy, Arthur (Jackie); and Robert (Mary). She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

After a successful career with the Bank of Montreal, Dorothy retired to work alongside her husband Ken at his trucking business in Thunder Bay. They spent many years travelling via motor home across Canada and the USA. When their travel adventures concluded, Dorothy volunteered on Friday evenings at the Deep River and District Hospital until well into her eighties. She also was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) for over 60 years.

Positive, energetic and fun-loving; Dorothy always made time to listen and to share her life experiences. She loved her family and enjoyed the company of friends whom she stayed in touch with after many years apart. Dorothy will be remembered for her kindness to everyone, her thoughtfulness and her curiosity about life and people.

Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no visitation.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 7th @ 11:00am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Hwy 17, Deep River Ontario.  Interment at St. Anne's Cemetery, Rapides des Joachims (Swisha) Quebec following the service.

The aunt we love remains with us, for love itself lives on.

And cherished memories never fade, because a loved one's gone.

Those we love can never be, more than a thought apart.
