Noel 'Chris' Labrie

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Noel “Chris” Labrie, who passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 86, in Ottawa, Ontario.

Born December 23, 1938 to Ludger and Berthe Labrie (née Giroux).  He will be deeply missed by his wife of 65 years, Carole Labrie (née Shea), his children Paul and Lisa Labrie, and his beloved grandchildren Miranda, Jaymie, Karly, Adam, and Erika. A big brother who will be fondly remembered by his sisters Claudette, Joyanne, and Suzanne and is predeceased by his siblings Yvon, Louisette, Pauline, and Laurent. 

Chris arrived in Deep River at the age of 16 for what turned out to be a 35 year career with AECL. He was an active member of the community with a passion for hockey; playing, coaching, and cheering from the stands. Chris was affectionately known as “Coach” by many and was admired for his kind heart, helping hand and sense of humour.  We will miss you dearly Chris, Noel, Dad, Grandpa, and Papa.  Respecting Chris's wishes, cremation will take place.  A mass and interment will be held in Deep River at a later date.
