It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful brother Richard on Monday May 2nd, 2022. Anyone that knew Richard knows what a kind, caring and compassionate man he was. His generosity showed no limits.

Richard is predeceased by his parents Emery and Noella and his brother-in-law Paul Harris. Left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sisters; Gail Leclerc (Noel), Gerry (Tricia), Dwight (Nancy), Bobby (Nancy), Suzanne Surette (Ric), Joann (Alain), Carl (Marlene), Jill Powell (Dave), Marc (Dana) and Bridgette as well as his stepmother Bella.  He was known as the beloved Uncle Dickie to numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was born September 25th, 1944 in Westmeath, Ontario. He spent most of his career with Ontario Hydro and living in Oshawa. After retiring he returned home to Deep River to be closer to family and friends.

Richard had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. You could always count on him for a game of cards and a good conversation. He was a devoted Christian who had a passion for music and shared his gift through the church choir.

Visitation will be held at Valley Funeral Home, Deep River on Thursday June 2nd, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8. A mass in the presence of ashes will be celebrated at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Deep River on Friday June 3rd, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Deep River Community Cemetery. 

In memoriam donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Society would be gratefully appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.
