Robert Carey Obituary

Robert Donald Carey, 83, of Deep River, Ontario passed peacefully at his home on Sunday September 7, with family at his side.

Bob was born on September 6, 1942 in Renfrew County. He spent many of his young years at his grandfather’s side scouting for bush fires. Bob was a member of the Ontario Provincial Police force, retiring after 30 years of service.

Upon retiring from the OPP, Bob spent most of his time at his camp along the Dumoine River in Quebec. While serving as a caretaker for the Dumoine River Rod and Gun Club, he made many life-long friends. He was invited to hunt white tail in Pennsylvania, where he fell in love with the land and with his beautiful wife.

Bob is survived by his wife Connie and three daughters Tamara Carey (Everton), Tanya Carey, Colleen Carey Yost and one stepson Mark Temons (Kristal); sister Janet (Tom) and brother Donald (Debbie). Poppa will be remembered fondly by his grandchildren Jessica (Steve), Jade, Kianna, BJ, Mattingly, Henry, George, Korinna and a great grandson, Marcus (Jessica) He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Christie James Carey and Stella Agnes Carey nee Larochelle, and sisters Shirley and Barbara.

A celebration of life will be held after moose season on Saturday, November 1 from 1-4 pm at the Town Hall, Rapides des Joachims, Quebec.
