Sheila Kathleen Hefler
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Hefler of Deep River at the age of 89 years. Kathleen passed peacefully with family by her side at the Deep River and District Hospital on Saturday October 26, 2019. She was the beloved partner of the late James (Jim) Harrington and the late Norman Hefler by first marriage. Her memory lives on as the loving mother of John Hefler and his wife Elaine Bisson of Ottawa and Bruce Hefler of Toronto. Cherished grandmother of Stuart, Brennan, Graeme, Ela and Luke Hefler and three great-grandchildren: Forest, Frida and Adam Hefler. Kathleen also shared a loving bond with Jim’s children, grandchildren and great - grandchildren. An avid quilter and book reader, Kathleen volunteered her time assisting other seniors at the North Renfrew Long-Term Care Centre late into her final years. Kathleen had traveled the world but called Deep River Home. The friendliness of the community was a perfect match for her warm and gentle spirit. Kathleen will be missed by her many friends in Deep River. Respecting Kathleen’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Valley Funeral Home in Deep River and the interment will take place at the Deep River Community Cemetery at a later date. In memoriam, donations to the Deep River and District Hospital would be gratefully appreciated.
