Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #436, Deep River, Ladies Auxiliary
At Grove Park Lodge, Renfrew on Friday, February 3, 2023. Vera McGillis (nee Wegner) at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of the late Milton McGillis. Loving mother of Larry McGillis and his wife Sandra of Renfrew, Brenda McGillis-Richard and her husband Mike of Chapeau and the late Merle McGillis (Laurie) of Thunder Bay. Cherished grandmother of Robert, Amanda, Ryan and Ashley McGillis and Justin and Christopher Richard and 7 great-grandchildren Abby, Brodie, Levi, Bryce, Owen, Quinn and Kai. Daughter of the late Egbert and Elsie Wegner (nee Vollrath). Sister of Dorothy Homer, predeceased by a brother Gordon Wegner and 2 sisters Joyce McNamara and Florence Sutherland. Respecting Vera’s wishes cremation will take place. Interment Service will be held at the Deep River Community Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 3, light lunch and refreshments to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #436, Deep River. In memory of Vera donations to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #436 Deep River would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Valley Funeral Home, Deep River.
