Wilfred (Mike) Edward Blimkie
Passed away peacefully at the Deep River and District Hospital on October 23rd at the age of 96 years. Beloved husband of Mildred (Behnke) and by first marriage the late Maize Fischer (1986). Loving father of Kevin and his wife Joan of Deep River, Michael and his wife Brenda of Chalk River, and Brian and his late wife Connie (2015) of Petawawa. Warmly remembered by Mildred’s children Mona, Rick, and Joyce and their families. Cherished grandfather of Melissa Blimkie, Melinda Blimkie (A.J. Worden), Mitchell Blimkie (Melanie), Kristin (Chris Leitch), Wesley Blimkie, Jaclyn Blimkie, and great grandfather of Rowan and Dylan Leitch, and Macy and Alexa Greene. Predeceased by grandson John Blimkie (October 3rd, 1992). Survived by a sister Pearl Turcotte (late Lloyd) of Renfrew. Predeceased by brother Sydney (Iona) and sister Blanche Baker (Karl). Son of the late Louise (Vollrath) and Joseph Blimkie. Respecting Mike’s wishes there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Chalk River on Monday October 28th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Chalk River. In memoriam donations to the Deep River & District Hospital would be gratefully appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Bushby and all of the staff of the Deep River & District Hospital for making him feel so loved, secure, comfortable, and peaceful during the last two months of his life.
